Groundwater contaminations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are investigated in this project to evaluate the contaminated area in Toufen and Chunan area and Jaunan elementary school area. And Miaoli EPB has conducted series of investigation and surgical remediation at south bank of Jhonggang River. This year, the project conducted groundwater monitoring wells in the high-pollution area (including Yungjen Road, and the southern area of Former Cathay Plastic Industry Co., Ltd (Former CP). The main concern is that the pollutants are chlorine-containing organic compounds(CVOCs). The main goals of the investigation at Jaunan elementary school aim to clarify the pollution scope The project has identified pollution sources and potential polluter.In-situ remediation of groundwater contamination is conducted at south bank of Jhonggang River by stepwise injection of bionutrition. According to the analytical results, CVOCs concentrations of the site are lower than controlling standard of Taiwan EPA.
